“Pilgrimage” along the path of Saint Paul
Only departure on: October 27, 2017

An esoteric trip, deeply reverential and humble, which follows the religious path along which Saint Paul journeyed during his preaching of Christianity. Following in the footsteps of the Apostle, our special 7 day cruise, infused with faith and piety towards Religion, History and Culture, bringing you closer to the lands which were visited by the “Apostle of the Nations”, in Greece and Turkey.

The cruise commences in Thessaloniki, the “Bride of the Thermaic Gulf”. Here, the Apostle preached during the winter of 49-50 A.D., he wrote two Epistles for the ancient Thessalonians and founded the first Church of the area. The ruins of that church lie close to Galerius’ Arch. Here you can also see the ancient walls, the house of Jason and the ancient Forum. Next stop is Veroia, whose patron saint is Saint Paul. You may “touch” the “Tribune of Saint Paul”, where it is said that he stood and preached the Gospel to the inhabitants of the city, and also the Church of the Resurrection of Christ the Savior (Anastasis), also called the Church of Christ.

The cruise will bring you to the port of Kavala, the biblical Neapolis, which is built amphitheatrically. Outside the city, at Philippi, Saint Paul conducted his first sermon in Europe. In this place he baptized the first Christian in Europe, the “woman by the name of Lydia”. Here you will also visit the prison where Saint Paul and Silas were held.

Passing to the coast of Asia Minor and Istanbul, it is time to explore the secrets, the history and the religious past of Hagia Sophia, the Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque. In the Turkish town of Dikili you will discover the treasures of Pergamon. The House of the Virgin Mary, near Kusadasi and 6 kilometers (4 miles) from the archaeological site of Ephesus, will ease your body and mind.

The cruise “Pilgrimage” along the path of Saint Paul reaches its apex at Patmos island. On this blessed island of the Aegean, you will feel the spiritual elevation, visit the Monastery of St. John the Evangelist and the Grotto of the Apocalypse. For the last call, a trip to Syros brings this religious journey to an end in the most suitable manner.

Seize the opportunity to feel this spiritual completion, intense reverence and to rediscover History and your Faith.
