While most first time travelers go to the islands, many long-time visitors to Greece find that the Peloponessos and the mainland maintain the traditional qualities they like most. This is my ever-expanding guide to the Greek Mainland. While a car is not essential, it is certainly helpful, especially if you are traveling on your own. But many of the travel agencies offer tours such as the 4-Day Classical Tour that visits the most popular mainland
destinations which are Delphi, Meteora,
the Argolis and Olympia. If you are a group of three or more you can book a personal tour with George the Famous Taxi Driver for about the same price and have a much richer experience than if you travel with a large group.

You can find hotels in Greece by location, price, whether or not it has a swimming pool, and see photos and reviews by using this link to booking.com. Excellent prices and many hotels you can book and then cancel
with no cancellation fee. For those who want to book without using a travel agency this is the best way to do it and the small comission I make on your booking enables me to continue my work.
