4 DAYS TOUR IN TURKEY: AYVALIK-IZMIR-PAMUKKALE-APHRODOSIAS
1st DAY : Arrive in Ayvalik about 10:00. Welcome in Ayvalik. Drive to Pergamon, once the ancient world `s major power and center. Visit the Library, once held 200.000 books, Temple of Athena, Temple of Trojan, Altar of Zeus, the Gynasium situated on terraces, the loower Agora and the Red Basilica dedicated to God Serapis. After Lunch, the Asklepion, one of the first official hospital in the world. Drive to Izmir. Overnight in Izmir.
2nd DAY : One full day tour to Ephesos , Kusadasi: first visit the House of the Virgin Mary where she spent the last years before she died. Moving on to Ephesus, we will visit the Fountains, Temples, the Agora, the Great Theatre, the Library of Celsus together with the Odeon and Gymnasiums. After lunch we will St.John`s Basilica and the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Wonders of the World). Move to Kusadasi. Free time in harbour. Return to Izmir in afternoon. Overnight in Izmir.
3th DAY: One day full tour;
1 -) Pamukkale / Hierapolis Tour Full Day:
We drive to Pamukkale to view the extraordinary formations of travertines and walk around the ancient city of Hierapolis, the Monument and Thermal Baths and the magnificent Necropolis, house of the dead. Return to Izmir.
2 -) Sardes and Magnesia Tour Full Day:
Drive to Sardes, capital of ancient Lydia. View the magnificent ruins of the Acropolis. Visit the Temple of Cybele and Diana which later became a church. Stop by the Synagogue, the Gymnasium and a newly excavated area. After lunch, we visit Manisa, visit the Archaeological and Ethnographical Museum, the Mosque of Muradiye, and Weeping Rock Niobe. Return to Izmir.
3 - ) Didyma / Miletus / Priene Tour Full Day:
Departure for Priene which is recognized as the first planned city of the ancient world and one of the most attractive sites on the West Coast. We will visit the Theatre, the Temple of Athena, the Agora and the Altar of Zeus and Cybele. We then proceed to Miletus, one of the principle Ionian cities and the home of Thales, twice visited by St.Paul. We will visit the Theatre, Byzantine Fortress, the Delphinion and the Faustina Bath. We will then continue on to Didyma and visit the incredible Temple of Apollo. Return to Izmir.
Overnight in Izmir.
4th DAY: Half Day tour in Izmir. Visit ancient Agora, climb Mount Pagos, once called the Crown of Smyrna, visit Alexander the Great`s Castle overlooking the Bay of Izmir. We will also visit the Archaeological and Ethnographical Museum. Should you wish to visit the Bazaar you will be left at the entrance. After lunch transfer to Ayvalik port.
