14 DAYS ISLAND HOPPING TOUR ON LESVOS - CHIOS AND SAMOS ISLAND
6 DAYS LESVOS – 4 DAYS CHIOS – 4 DAYS SAMOS
•1st DAY IN LESVOS: Arrival to beautiful Mytilene airport or port. Depart by taxi or hired car for the greenish, south part of the island, the most beautiful beach Vatera. After about an hours drive (50-55 km), arrival to the Hotel. Accommodation for 6 nights with breakfast by the Aegean Sea. While staying in Vatera, visit the nearby charming traditional village of Vrissa (3 km) and the Natural Historical Museum where you can see fossils thousands of years old of fish, Elephants, Turtles and many other animal and plants. You can also visit the picturesque fishing cape of Saint Fokas (5 km), Skala Polichnitos (15 Km), Nifida (17 Km) and the Natural Spring Waters in Polichnitos (8Km). On the first day we suggest you go for a swim in the most beautiful, longest and clean beach on Lesvos. It has been awarded the EEC Blue Ribbon for its clean water repeatedly. Then have a taste of the delicious local food and a rest by the sea.
•2nd DAY IN LESVOS: After breakfast depart for the graphical village of Agiasos (27 Km). It’s a very green traditional mountain village which is famous for its handmade earthenware and woodcuttings.
There you can enjoy a traditional, Greek coffee made in hot ash and a home made dessert. Later you continue our trip to Plomari (approximately 45 km). It’s a one hour distance from Agiasos.
Plomari is famous for its Ouzo and natural beauty. There will visit the Dilistery - Ouzo Museum of VARVAGIANNI and then a walk through the village. Later there will be time for a swim at the beautiful beach of Agios Isidoros, before we drive back to Vatera, through the villages of Perama, Evriaki and Keramia.
•3rd DAY IN LESVOS: Spend this day at the Hotel and nearby area. Explore the hills of the surrounding are and take a walk along the seemingly endless stretch of beach. At nigh, there will be a Greek Night with live music, bouzouki, Greek songs and traditional local dances. •4th DAY IN LESVOS: After breakfast we suggest a visit the North - West part of the island, driving through Axladeri, Kalloni, Parakoila and Agra. Visit the Perified Forest in Sigri (95 Km approximately) and the Natural Historical Museum in Sigri. After Sigri we will drive to Skala Eressos (10 Km approximately) to have a rest, lunch and a swim at the magical beach.
•5th DAY IN LESVOS: After breakfast depart for the North part of the island, graphical Molivos, via Axladeri and Kalloni. It’s about a one and a half hours drive. Visit the castle and walk through the traditional cobble streets. We suggest lunch in a traditional tavern in the area of Vafios. After lunch depart for Petra (3Km) and Anaxos, where you can enjoy a coffee and a swim to Anaxos beach. Return to the Hotel early in the evening.
•6th DAY IN LESVOS: Spend the day at the hotel and nearby area. We suggest a visit to the hot spring waters in Polichnitos and then a swim in the crystal Aegean Sea at Vatera.
•7th DAY LESVOS-CHIOS: Free for shopping in the new modern shopping-erea in Mytilene and the evening departure with the Ferry for Chios Island.
•1st DAY IN CHIOS: Arrival about 22:00 and transfer to our Hotel.Tonigth free for nigth-life in Chios city.
•2nd DAY IN CHIOS: After breakfast depart for Tour in North - East Chios ( VOLISSOS -MOUNDON MONASTERY - KIPOURGIES - NAGOS). We will visit Volissos, the biggest village in northern Chios. We will see the great frescos of Moundon Monastery. We will have lunch in Kipourgies village and we will cross Fita, Spartounda, Kampia, Viki, and Amades villages before we take a swim in Nagos beach . Return to the Hotel early in the evening.
•3rd DAY IN CHIOS: After breakfast depart for Tour in South East Chios (Mastic Villages- ARMOLIA - PIRGI - MESTA - EMPORIOS ).
On our way to Armolia village we will pass through Kampos area with its unique mansions. We will visit Pirgi with it`s famous painting on the walls of the houses named "xista" andf we will see the mastic trees. After Mesta, a medieval village near Pirgi, we will go to Emporios and "Mavra Volia" beach to take a swim and have lunch.Return to the Hotel early in the evening.
•4th DAY IN CHIOS: Today we will visit the North West Chios
We will pay a visit to the Byzantine monastery of Nea Moni with it`s famous mosaics. Afterwards, we will go to Anavatos, a medieval village like Mistras area in Peloponissos, and we will visit "Agia Markela" monastery near a beautiful beach in order to take a swim and have lunch.
•5th DAY CHIOS - SAMOS: All day rest , swiming and shopping. In the evening depart with the Ferry for Samos Island.
•1st DAY IN SAMOS: Arrival at Samos - Vathi port and transfer to our Hotel
•2nd DAY IN SAMOS: After a good Breakfast We will visit the Archeological Museum of the town, where we can admire, except of the findings of various eras, the famous statue “Kouros” which is 5 meters high.
We continue along the wild romantic North Coast, and our next stop is Kokkari. Charming and picturesque fishermen’s village, developed in tourism ,is one of the most beautiful places in Samos. There we will have the opportunity to drink a coffee or buying our souvenirs from the good qualities shops which are in this village.
Our next stop is the Valley of Nightingales. It is a wonderful area full of high plane trees, running water and magnificent vegetation, that does not look as if you are in an island and the…..wonderful song of the nightingales.
Continuing constantly through the varied and verdant landscape we reach finally Karlovasi (2nd biggest city). There we have the opportunity to visit the winery and taste the most famous wines of Samos.
We stop for lunch/coffee/shopping.
Having enjoyed a pleasant morning, with the best impressions, we return to our hotel.
•3rd DAY IN SAMOS: Today , after breakfast we will visit the village Mytilinioi and its famous Paleontological Museum.
After our visit to the Paleontological Museum of Mytilinioi, our next stop is Hereon where we will have the ability to visit and be guided in the famous Temple of Hera.
Our next stop it will be in PYTHAGORIO one of the most significant village. In Pythagorion we are going to guide in the most famous sights as the Monastery of Panagia Spiliani and Efpalinous Tunnel,and we will have time to spend for shopping or coffee.
Having enjoyed a pleasant morning, with the best impressions, we return to our hotel.
•4th DAY IN SAMOS: Today Our first stop is at the famous Monastery of Timios Stavros in Mavratzeoi. It was built in1592 B.C by the monk Neilo. The monastery is square shaped, it has many cells and plenty water. It is famous for its handmade wooden screen, for the important donations made by great archbishops and also for its big selection of valuable icons.
The Monastery of Megalis Panagias, in Koumaradeoi, is our next stop. According to tradition, the monastery was built by five monks that came from Asia Minor. The sight of the monastery today is impressive and the visitor can feel really close to the harmony of nature and see with the eyes of his fantasy the creations of God.
After the tour in these two big monasteries, we are going to visit the Monastery of the Agia Triada, which is close to the village Mytilinioi. It was built in 1836 in a position that is 1 hour on foot away from the sea side. It is said that centuries ago the sea reached up to that point since many fossils and sandy lays of ground have been found there. In 1940, 16 monks used to live in the monastery, but today there is only one.
Our last stop is in Pythagorio, at the Monastery of Panagia Spiliani. After walking some meters we reach close to the monastery, but the beautiful view and the Cave where the icon of Panagia was found, compensates us!
In the monastery there is a big cave. The visitor goes down the stairs in the cave, where it is said that the icon was found. It is said that some sailors saw from the sea a light shining every night on the top of the mountain and so they dug there and found the icon.
Having enjoyed a beautiful morning and with the best impressions we return to our hotels in the afternoon.
.5th DAY IN SAMOS : We check-out from the Hotel and transfer for Samos Port or Airport for return in your Home ( sweet home)!!!
