Winter in Lesvos – Greece and Turkey for the olive collection. Live on healthy Mediterranean food, learning how to gather olives and how to cook the Mediterranean way using pure olive oil and local traditional recipes.
PROGRAM IN LESVOS ISLAND
1st DAY - FRIDAY: Arrival in Mytilene. Welcome with rent a car and jeeps. Transfer to the hotel, which is allocated at the south area of the island, on the magnificent beach of Vatera – www.lesvos.com/aphrodite
You will have some time to relax in your rooms and receive some general information about your program.
For dinner we’ll visit the charming village Vrisa, where we can enjoy ouzo & meze (appetizers) at a traditional cafeneio (coffee shop).
2nd DAY – SATURDAY: Early in the morning after breakfast we will start our day by visiting the olive groves in the area of Vatera. For 4 hours we will learn how to gather olives from the trees and the ground. Then we will depart for the hot springs in Polichnitos, for a relaxing hot bath and return to our hotel where Mrs Maritsa will show us how tzatziki and dolmades are made! Dinner will follow.
3rd DAY – SUNDAY: After breakfast we will depart for the city of Plomari and pass villages of Stavros, Akrasi and Megalochori. At Megalochori we will visit a traditional oil press where we can see how olive oil is produced. Then we will continue our drive to Plomari, where we will enjoy a lunch drinking the famous ouzo of Plomari “BARBAGIANNIS”.
After lunch we will visit the ouzo museum of Barbagiannis where we can see how ouzo is produced.
Another visit to a modern oil-press will follow at Trygonas village. In the afternoon we will enjoy traditional Greek coffee in one of Geras gulf villages, then return to Vatera. Where Mrs Maritsa will show us how traditional garlic sauce, mousakas and Mytilene’s meatballs are made.
4th DAY - MONDAY: After breakfast we will go to gather olives and then have another relaxing hot bath in the hot springs of Polichnitos.
On our way back to Vatera we will pay a visit to Vrisa’s Natural History Museum, where we can admire fossils of many prehistoric animals and plants which where found in the area of Vatera.
A rich dinner will follow at the hotel’s restaurant with tasty mezedakia (titbits) made by Mrs Maritsa, grilled vegetables and a barbeque of fresh local meat.
5th DAY – THURSDAY: After breakfast departure for the traditional village of Agiasos. We will explore the village, walking and visiting local stores selling hand made products from wood. We will also visit the women’s association of Agiasos and taste their famous home made sweets.
At noon we will go to the area of Karini where we will have lunch. There is a huge platanos tree here. The hollow of the tree is a room where the painter Theofilos spent most of his life. After lunch we will visit the ceramic shop of Antonia Gave, where she will show us how she makes and paints her ceramics.
On our way back to the hotel we’ll visit another oil-press in the area of Keramia
Tonight Mrs Maritsa will show us how vegetables with oil are cooked and also soutzoukakia with fresh tomato sauce.
6th DAY – WEDNESDAY: After breakfast departure to the olive groves for olive gathering. After we finish we will visit the hot springs in the area of Lisvori. After our relaxing bath we’ll have a chance to enjoy a Greek coffee at Skala Polichnitou beside the small fishing port.
At night we’ll enjoy a “goodbye feast”. Mrs Maritsa will cook “kokora krasato with rice” and Mr Kostas and Yiannis will play live traditional music for you. All togother we’ll dance local, traditional dances.
7th DAY – THURSDAY: After breakfast free day and departure to Mytilene port for the ferry to Ayvalik -TURKEY.
PROGRAM IN TURKEY:
DAY 1- THURSDAY: Arrival to Ayvalik City , welcome from our partner & transfer to Club Afrodit
Lunch at Club Afrodit and after Visit Kucukkuyu Olive Museum , Narlı Village Olive Groves and Return to Club Afrodit
Welcome Cocktail in Lobby Lounge and Dinner with organically grown vegetables from our garden with our organically produced Pulima Olive Oil with Turkish Raki a presentation on Turkish National Alcoholic Beverage and varieties.
DAY 2 – FRIDAY: Breakfast Buffet in Troy Room and depart for Enroute to Mountain Villages with 4 X 4 vehicles to pick Olives.

About 15:00 Enroute to thermal pool in Gόre to get energized
Return to Club Afrodit and after Dinner with Turkish Music & Turkish Snack (Mezze) varieties with wine or raki
DAY 3 – SATURDAY: Breakfast Buffet in Troy Room
Enroute to Gόre Olive Museum with 4 X 4 vehicles
Lunch at Gόre Harbour at the Fish & Wine Restaurant
Olive selection and seperation with the machine, walks in Olive Groves
Return to Hotel
Dinner with Turkish Sausage (Sucuk) in Pita Bread with “Glόh Wine” and Mount Ida Stories by the fireplace.
DAY 4 – SUNDAY: Breakfast Buffet in Troy Room
About 09:30 Olive Oil Filtering, Bottling & Branding, Make and take your own bottle
Enroute to Assos Historic Sites. And Lunch at Assos Harbour
About 14:00 Enroute to Troy And about 18:00 Return to Hotel

DAY 5 – MONDAY: Breakfast Buffet in Troy Room
About 10:00 Enroute to Mount Ida trails, Waterfalls, Canyons & nature walks with 4 X 4 vehicles. Club Afrodit Box Lunch is served on mountain top.
18:00 Return to Club Afrodit
Dinner with Turkish Cheese and Wine selections with ambiance music.
DAY 6 – THURSDAY: Breakfast Buffet in Troy Room
About 10:00 depart for Kalkım Kilim Shop in Gόre
Lunch at a local kebap house in Edremit
All afternoon free in Edremit for shopping and tour of the city.
About 17:00 Return to Club Afrodit
Dinner , Snack & Dance Night in Kόηόkkuyu in Bisquit Bar & Restaurant
DAY 7 – WEDNESDAY: Breakfast Buffet in Troy Room And free day
DAY 8 – THURSDAY: Breakfast Buffet in Troy Room And Check out from Club Afrodit.

Enroute to Ayvalık Port and Free for Ayvalık City tour and shopping to the Bazar
18:00 Embark on boat for Mytilini.
Arrive In Mytilene at 20:00 and take the over night ferry to Pireaus.
