Bringing Medicine and Vitamins to Greece

Anyone can bring any medicine he or she needs when travelling to Greece.  I asked a local pharmacist and the chief of police at the Athens airport. Both of these men laughed at me.  They both indicated to me that people are not normally questioned about pills or other medicines which are obviously for personal use. Only if you are carrying an unusualy large quantity of pills could there be a question. In that case a doctor's prescription will take care of that.

The same holds true for your vitamins. In other words don't believe everything you read in the travel guides. You don't have to be afraid to bring your medicine or vitamins to Greece. Just don't bring anything illegal like heroin, hashish, marijuana or recreational drugs.
