Greetings from Athens, Greece and the beautiful Greek islands and mainland, perhaps the most popular place to buy property today. It also happens to be one of the trickiest and most complicated places for a foreigner to buy. This is where I come in. I am a real estate consultant. I help people buy (sometimes sell) and convert properties. I do what an experienced buyer would do for himself, having the advantage of the language and the knowledge of "how things are done in Greece".

Since most of the real estate agents in Greece avoid communicating in written english, mainly when it comes to medium or small properties, I fill in the gap between prospective buyers and agents.

I can perform a variety of services amoung which these are the most common :

• Locate and evaluate properties according to clients specifications.
• Trouble shooting where legal, technical or bureaucratic problems might arise (tax, labour or other local authorities).
• Advise on money transfers, to avoid long bank delays.
• Negotiate with contractors, (builders, carpenters, electricians etc ) and write agreements, follow up lawyers ( by law, a lawyer has to supervise any transaction of more than $13000 ) , notary public, engineers, and other professionals.
• Connect properties to electricity, telephone and water.
• Be available to answer any queries

My fee for any of the above and for keeping client well informed, is $50 an hour, not including travelling and telephone expenses. Usually money spent on my fees is more than offset by savings from better negotiations, and from avoiding expensive pitfalls.

When needed I also do house or apartment hunting for rentals.
