| Anatolia College is an independent, non-profit institution of learning comprising three distinct
divisions: a combined junior and senior high school with an enrollment of 1230 Greek students; a four-year college,
The American College of Thessaloniki (ACT), enrolling 750 students from Greece and abroad in liberal arts and business
administration programs; and a one-year, English-language secretarial school. The secondary school consists of two gymnasiums (grades 7-9) and two lyceums (grades 10-12) of equal student numbers. All are housed on the same campus. Each of the four schools has a Dean and Vice Dean and a faculty which teaches primarily in that school. The secondary school grants the Greek apolytirion (high school diploma). With the exception of courses in English, Art, and Computers, the curriculum is taught in Greek. Anatolia's secondary school is well known for its high standards of education and its encouragement of innovation. Its effectiveness is proven year after year when in September Greek university entrance exam results are announced. The percentage of Anatolia graduates winning the much coveted positions in higher education is much higher than the national average. In 2000, from a class numbering 174 students, 121 succeeded entering the Greek Universities and 38 the Greek vocational schools, making Anatolia one of the most successful high school in northern Greece in this regard.
