This is what Dick
says:
"I go on Sporades Tours all the time. I think I've
been on almost every one for the last 25 years. I would never go
on any other tour.
Seriously, though, here's a
list of reasons why these tours are not like any others:
1. Except for a $200 deposit, you don't have to pay for your tour until you arrive.
2. The cost of your tour depends on the number of days you spend. You can come for part or all of any tour, and you can combine part or all of any tour with part or all of another tour.
3. Group dinners are in the best local restaurants, not hotels, and you can order whatever you want.
4. No "local guides." Your guide Dick Caldwell is a professor of Classics who has written many books and articles about the ancient world, and has been leading these tours for 25 years.
5. While we go to all the famous places, we also go to unknown (and often much more interesting) locations: mountain villages, unspoiled islands, local hangouts.
6. NO ORGANIZED SHOPPING!
7. See if you can find a tour of Greece that stays
at Metsovo, Konitsa, Kiparissia, Hydra, or Laggadia (as well as Athens,
Crete, Santorini, Delfi, Nafplion, and Olympia).
