The Athens News, normally a weekly, came out every day with the stories of the day's events and schedules so you could plan what you were going to do. Usually my first couple hours were spent drinking coffee and reading this and the International Herald Tribune which also had good coverage. Every cafe and restaurant had a television or big-screen so you were never far from the action. Unlike the Euro 2004 Football championships they did not set up giant screens in the squares because they thought they would be to inviting a target for terrorists. But it did not matter because the terrorists did not come.
