We leave from Piso Livadi on a small excursion boat, and after a short journey arrive in Ai Giorgi, the small port of Iraklia.
There is a feeling of being at least ten years behind the rest of the world and we suggest that you just let yourselves enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the local way of life.
The next stop is Koufonissia, where you can go everywhere on foot. The whole length of the southern part of the island has wonderful beaches and there is a path which runs parallel with the southern coastline giving you the chance to choose whichever beach you like. The wide variety of fish and seafood served in the tavernas is always fresh and sold at very reasonable prices because nearly all of the local families are involved in the fishing trade.
In the afternoon we return to Piso Livadi. Treat yourself with a day far away from the pressures of modern civilization.
